Veneto
Moderate, with Alpine and lake influence
Italy's biggest wine region by volume, from Valpolicella's Amarone to Soave and Prosecco, between the Alps and the Adriatic.
Overview
About Veneto
The Veneto stretches from Lake Garda to the Adriatic, and makes more wine than any other Italian region. Around Verona, the Corvina grape gives Valpolicella, Bardolino and the dried-grape Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto. Soave is made from Garganega, and the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene make Prosecco from the Glera grape.
It makes a wide range of styles, from light everyday wines to some of Italy's most expensive reds.

Shaded: Veneto. Map units are states, provinces or départements, so a smaller place appears as the larger area that contains it.
