Background
Origin & History
Albillo Mayor is a white grape still grown in central Spain, notably in Ribera del Duero. It is Tempranillo's mother, and Benedicto its father. Much of the old Albillo in Ribera del Duero has been replaced by Tempranillo over the years, though a few old vines survive.
