Overview
About Tokat
Tokat lies in the valley of the Yeşilırmak, inland from the Black Sea coast, where the climate is a transition between the wetter coast and the dry interior. Narince, whose name means delicate, is the local grape: a thin-skinned white that makes dry wines in steel or oak, traditional-method sparkling wine, and skin-contact wines. Its leaves are also used for sarma, stuffed vine leaves.
Diren is the winery based in Tokat, and other producers either own vineyards there or buy grapes from local growers.
Tokat is marked on the map.

Shaded: Tokat. Map units are states, provinces or départements, so a smaller place appears as the larger area that contains it.
