Background
Origin & History
The variety was known only from a single, old and weakened vine found in the village of St. Georgen am Leithagebirge, near Eisenstadt in Burgenland, which gave the grape its working name. DNA profiling identified it as one parent of Grüner Veltliner, the other being Savagnin.
