Arka plan
Köken ve tarih
Trollinger, or Schiava Grossa, probably comes from South Tyrol and Trentino, and its German name is thought to derive from "Tirolinger", a person from the Tyrol. It made its way north to Württemberg, where it is the most planted red grape and still makes up about a sixth of the vineyards, in light, fresh, often slightly sweet reds.
It has a surprisingly deep role in breeding: it is a parent of Madeleine Royale (with Pinot Noir), of Kerner (with Riesling) and of Muscat Hamburg (with Muscat of Alexandria).
