Gevrey-Chambertin hakkında
Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest village of the Côte de Nuits and has nine Grand Cru vineyards, more than any other in Burgundy. Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze are the most famous. In 1847 the village attached the name of its best vineyard to its own.
The reds are among the most muscular in Burgundy: dark cherry and plum, with firm tannins and a savoury, earthy depth that repays cellaring. The village-level wines can be very good value for the area.
Gevrey-Chambertin haritada işaretli.

Gölgeli alan: Côte-d'Or. Harita birimleri eyalet, il ya da département'dır; bu yüzden daha küçük bir yer, onu içeren daha büyük alan olarak görünür.

İklim ve terroir
İklim
Cool continental
Cool and continental, like the rest of the Côte de Nuits. Cold winters and warm summers, with hail and frost risks.
Terroir ve topraklar
Asmaların yetiştiği zemin
Clay-limestone soils, with more clay than further south, which gives the wines their sturdy structure. The Grand Crus lie mid-slope, with village vineyards on the flatter land below.
